The Christmas Party was held on Saturday 10 December at Roger and Chris Dutton's new home in The Walnuts. We had 50x people attend and there was more than enough room for everyone—there are so many doors in their new home I'm sure there are at least five club members who are still there wandering around trying to get out.
One of the highlights of the evening was the Operation Breakthrough Choir—about 20 children sang a variety of Christmas carols to us and did a great job—it really showed us what it's all about. Many thanks also to everyone who came and brought a gift for a child through Operation Breakthrough.
Janet Suddock received a gift for the tremendous work she has done on our new website. Many thanks to her again for a LOT of work in putting it all together--it's amazing! Check it out at: www.midwestmgaclub.com.
We also recognized Bill Davidson for being the Treasurer for the last three years—he did a super job and we're still in the black! Ken Robbins is picking up the checkbook at the end of the month as our new Treasurer.
I've never seen so much good food in one place! Anyone who went hungry on Saturday must have gone to a different party. Many thanks to all the Chef's who slaved over a hot stove and brought all that delicious food for the ravenous hordes who were there. Between the Behm's brisket, the appetizers, side dishes, and desserts (and LOTS of wine) there wasn't a slim tummy on anyone as we left for home.
Thanks again to everyone for a great time, good conversation with friends, and your gifts for the children. Many thanks also to the Dutton's for sharing their new home with us.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
