Anyone interested in British cars (usually the older variety) is welcome to our club. Most members own one or more of these classics, however some join because they have an interest in them. Most members are local, but we have active members in 5 states and in Spain and South Africa. We are the Kansas Chapter for the North American MGA Register.
Dues are $20 per year payable to the treasurer at the first of the year. We have an annual membership roster that is published and distributed at our yearly holiday party in December. Members can access an up-to-date roster online. Members can also keep up on events at this website which will be updated with activities and information.
While the MGA was the "charter" car of the club, there are over a dozen different types of British cars in the club now. Some of the cars represented are: MGA, MGB, MG-PA, MGTD, MGC, MGTF, MGTC, MGTA, Austin Healy, Rover, Jaguar, Morgan, Morris Minor, Midget and Triumph.
The Midwest MGA Club meets on the first Saturday of each month at Winstead's restaurant located at 103rd Street and Metcalf in Overland Park, Kansas at 8:00 AM. We also have a quarterly luncheon (March, June and September) at Olive Garden located at 119th Street and Blackbob Road, Olathe, Kansas on the 3rd Monday of the month at 11:00am. Each month a club member sponsors an event of his/her choosing. The gatherings include drives, tech sessions with tech help from members, dinners and visits to local attractions.
We also take part in a variety of local car-related events including the Lawrence Region AACA Car Show, the Kansas City All British Car Show, the Heartland MG Regional and others. Each year members participate in British auto events in Memphis, Tennessee, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Glenwood Springs, Colorado. All British cars are welcome and we have a good time helping each other with our cars and in sharing a common interest in keeping these wonderful works of art on the road.
